Where Flavor Meets Emotion: A Culinary Expedition

Food with Feeling: A New Chapter for Your Favorite Recipe Blog

It’s with immense excitement and a touch of nostalgia that I announce a significant milestone in the journey of this culinary space. It has been over four remarkable years since I penned my very first blog post, embarking on what started as a simple passion project. This blog, in its evolving form, has become an incredible part of my life, opening doors to unforeseen opportunities and connecting me with an amazing community of food lovers. I am profoundly grateful for every step of this journey and for each one of you who has followed along.

When I first launched this platform over four years ago under the name “B. Britnell,” it was always intended to be a temporary placeholder. I envisioned a name that would truly encapsulate the essence of what I hoped to create – something more authentic, more resonant, and uniquely “me.” While my own name certainly carries a personal touch, I always felt it didn’t quite capture the vibrant, heartfelt spirit of the recipes and stories I aimed to share. The quest for that perfect name has been a long one, a patient waiting game for the right inspiration to strike.

After what feels like an eternity, but in reality has been a thoughtful four years of contemplation, I am absolutely thrilled to unveil the new identity of this beloved blog: Food with Feeling! Over the past few months, as I’ve shared this new name with my closest family and friends, the reactions have been wonderfully diverse. Some have embraced it instantly, some have taken a moment to adjust, and a select few have resonated with it as deeply as I do. Ultimately, my conviction in this name stems from a profound connection to its meaning, and I truly believe that personal alignment is what matters most. This is more than just a name change; it’s a declaration of purpose, a refinement of our shared culinary adventure.

Are you ready for this exciting transition? Mark your calendars! The brand new Food with Feeling blog is officially launching NEXT FRIDAY, February 23rd! Prepare for a fresh look, a renewed energy, and the same delicious recipes you’ve come to love, all under a name that truly embodies our mission.

The Genesis of Food with Feeling: More Than Just a Name

The journey to finding “Food with Feeling” was, as many creative processes are, somewhat serendipitous. It wasn’t the first name that popped into my head, nor did it arrive fully formed in a flash of inspiration. Instead, it emerged during one of those intense brainstorming sessions where I was racking my brain, searching for a phrase that truly struck a chord – something evocative, memorable, and most importantly, available! It was the first name that truly resonated with my vision and hadn’t already been claimed in the vast digital landscape.

The core philosophy behind “Food with Feeling” is beautifully simple yet profoundly impactful. My unwavering desire is to create and share recipes that go beyond mere sustenance; I want them to evoke genuine emotions, to spark joy, comfort, excitement, and a longing to connect. This isn’t solely about recipes that make you physically feel good – though I genuinely hope to continue sharing plenty of healthy, nourishing options. Rather, it’s about crafting culinary experiences that stir your soul, making you want to share them with everyone you know. Imagine a dish so delightful, so comforting, so utterly delicious that it inspires you to gather your friends and family around your table – whether for a casual dinner or a festive brunch – just so you can recreate and share that incredible experience. That, for me, is the true essence of food with feeling.

Throughout my life, food has always represented more than just nourishment within my family. It has been the centerpiece of celebrations, the comfort during difficult times, the catalyst for storytelling, and the universal language of love. I know this sentiment is shared by countless individuals around the world. Food is an experience; it’s a memory; it’s an emotion. With “Food with Feeling,” I aspire for my recipes to create those very experiences and feelings for you, transforming everyday meals into cherished moments.

There’s another significant development I wanted to openly share with you, one that reflects a natural evolution in my personal eating habits and, consequently, the content of this blog. After a year of “B. Britnell” being exclusively meat-free, I plan to gradually reintroduce a selection of meat recipes to the blog. The truth is, my personal diet in real life includes meat, and I believe it’s essential for my blog to authentically reflect that reality. Approximately 18 months ago, I embraced a meat-free lifestyle for a considerable period. However, during my pregnancy, I experienced the most intense and undeniable cravings for meat, a pattern that has continued throughout my breastfeeding journey.

Recently, I came across the term “flexitarian,” which perfectly describes an individual who follows a flexible diet, incorporating meat sparingly and consciously. This term truly resonates with where I am in my dietary journey right now. This shift isn’t a rejection of plant-based eating, but rather an embrace of balance and authenticity. My goal is to continue providing a wide array of plant-forward dishes while also offering thoughtful, delicious meat recipes for those who, like me, navigate a more flexible approach to their diet. I’ll delve deeper into my personal journey with the flexitarian lifestyle in a future post, sharing more insights and perspectives on this evolving relationship with food.

What About B. Britnell? Will My Favorite Recipes Disappear?
