Now that I’ve shared quite a few flavor-packed recipes on my blog that utilize enchilada sauce, I figured that it was time I had a dedicated post to my GO-TO from-scratch enchilada sauce!
Once of the dependable things about this sauce is that it so ridiculously straightforward AND comes together with all ingredients that you probably already have on hand right now!

How to Make Enchilada Sauce:
Part of what A regular here about this enchilada sauce is how STRAIGHTFORWARD it is to make! The whole thing comes together in one small saucepan. First the oil and flour are heated and then the tomato sauce, broth, and spices are added in. The whole thing is simmered for about 15 minutes and then it’s DONE.
I got this method from an old vegan cookbook that I checked out from the library. It’s simple. It’s straightforward. And it’s Deeply good. I like it because it’s straightforward to adjust the heat levels if you want it extra spicy or even extra mild.
I plan to do lots of good things with this enchilada sauce on the blog in the coming months so be prepared:)
